Every year anti-racist ideas win lots of awards around the world. The problem is there are few black creatives creating these ideas, and even fewer black creatives are judging them in award shows.
It was from this dissatisfaction that BLCK.PWR.ADS was born: the world's first advertising festival to select the best anti-racist ideas of recent years, with a jury made of only black creatives.
The idea was created by the black creatives from AGÔ in partnership with Unblock Coffee, and counted with 29 jury members that selected 80 selected projects.
To launch the new Agency Plans, we decided to talk directly with the Brazilian Club jury, which also happens to be our main target for this product. The only problem: as a startup, we have no money to spend on big productions.
So we did the obvious: we used creativity to generate our ads for free and get their attention.
And it won 3 shortlists and some new memberships in the process, so we believe they kind of liked it.
